The Core Conversation, No. 1
This isn’t just a blog about Pilates.
It’s a space to explore the practice, physically, mentally, and personally.
The Core Conversation is where that exploration lives.
And this is where mine begins.
Pilates didn’t start as a routine for me.
It became something more.
It taught me how to slow down.
Not just in movement,
but in thought.
To listen.
To adjust.
To begin again.
There was a time I thought strength had to be loud.
Measured in intensity.
In pushing harder.
In doing more.
But Pilates showed me something different.
That strength can be quiet.
Intentional.
Steady.
Pilates didn’t change my body first, it changed the way I showed up for myself.
It asked me to be present.
To feel what was actually happening
instead of rushing past it.
To notice where I was holding tension.
Where I was disconnected.
Where I needed to return.
And over time,
that awareness didn’t stay on the reformer.
It followed me into everything.
The way I move.
The way I teach.
The way I respond instead of react.
This practice became less about perfection
and more about presence.
Less about performance
and more about connection.
And maybe that’s why I keep coming back to it.
Not because it’s easy.
But because it asks something honest of me,
every single time.
This is the practice I return to.
Not for perfection,
but for presence.
And maybe, in some way,
this becomes part of yours too.
