The Core Conversation

The Core Practice is a space where movement meets reflection. Rooted in Pilates, but not limited to it-

This is where the practice expands beyond the physical.

A place to slow down.
To notice.
To reconnect.

Through The Core Conversation,
this space explores what it means to move with intention-
in the body, and in the way we show up.

This isn’t about perfection.

It’s about presence.

The Spaces We Inherit: Taking Ownership of a Pilates Studio Built on Community

The Core Conversation, No. 6

The Spaces We Inherit

Sometimes life gives us the opportunity to build something from the ground up.

Other times, it asks us to care for something that someone else has already built.

As I step into this new chapter and take ownership of The Core Collective, I find myself thinking less about what comes next and more about what came before.

This studio did not begin with me.

Long before I walked through these doors, someone had a vision. There were risks taken, classes taught, relationships built, and a community nurtured with intention and care. The space that exists today is the result of countless hours, conversations, challenges, and acts of courage.

There is something incredibly humbling about being entrusted with that.

When people talk about taking over a business, they often focus on growth plans, new ideas, and future goals. While those things matter, I believe there is another responsibility that comes first: honoring the foundation that already exists.

A studio is never just reformers, walls, and equipment.

It is the people.

It is the instructors who show up week after week.

It is the clients who trust us with their bodies, their stories, and sometimes their hardest seasons.

It is the friendships formed before and after class. The encouragement exchanged across the room. The quiet moments when movement helps someone reconnect with themselves.

That is what makes a studio special.

As Missoni beautifully said, Movement Bottega was never meant to live within four walls. Movement itself is fluid. It grows, evolves, and expands. Communities do the same.

While names may change and new chapters begin, the heart of what was created here continues to move forward through every person it has touched.

I don’t see myself as someone arriving to replace what came before.

I see myself as someone fortunate enough to continue the story.

My hope is to honor what has been built, preserve what makes this community special, and create space for it to keep growing.

To everyone who has been part of this journey before me: thank you.

To everyone who will be part of it moving forward: welcome.

The future of The Core Collective will be built on movement, connection, and community.

And for that foundation, I am deeply grateful.
